The development industry in Nagaland has provided an impetus to the economic growth of this northeastern state of India. The proliferation of large-scale and medium-scale industries has helped to raise the standard of living of the local inhabitants of Nagaland.

Endowed with ideal infrastructure, Nagaland supports several industries. Some of the well-known industries of the state of Nagaland are:

  1. Bamboo-related industries like plywood factories.
  2. Cottage industries like spinning, weaving, and cane works.

The following industrial infrastructures are available for setting up industrial units in the state:

  1. Old Industrial Estate and New Industrial Estate at Dimapur.
  2. Mini Industrial Estates at Tizit (Mon) and Kiphire (Tuensang).
  3. Growth Centres under ‘No-Industry District’ at Longleng and Noklak (Tuensang).
  4. Growth Centres under DIC schemes at Chuchuyimlang (Mokokchung), Baghty (Wokha), and Saring (Mokokchung).

  1. Industrial Growth Centre, Ganeshnagar, Dimapur (Under PM’s new initiative).
  2. Export Promotion Industrial Park (EPIP), Ganeshnagar, Dimapur.

The Government aims to further develop industrial areas in other potential zones such as Naginimara-Tiru & Jalukie valley for balanced industrial development. Plans also include setting up IID Centres, Food Parks, IT Parks, and a chain of Cold Storages to attract investors and entrepreneurs.
